In 1907, Lord Robert Baden-Powell organized a camp designed to bring out the best of the youth, teaching dozens of young boys skills that they could apply for the rest of their life. Over a hundred years later, this need is globally recognized as the Scouting program, as it organizes, instructs, guides, and transitions the youth of this world into strong, capable, moral, and proud adults.

Troop 169 aims to give teenage boys experiences that they can take with them, no matter where they go with their life. Alongside the 'traditional' activities of camping, hiking, and community service, the Troop 169 offers a wider variety of activities than most people think: odd merit badges, cooking, parties and games, and whatever else the scouts decide to do. The scouts organize themselves, the adults are just there for supervision. The goal of this program is to raise youth who are capable of managing themselves.
